Delete your WireMunch account.

You can delete your WireMunch account and its associated server data from the app, or by email without having the app installed.

In the app

Open WireMunch, go to Settings, sign in if needed, and choose Delete server account, then confirm. It disables account access and requests backend cleanup. Removing downloaded copies on the device is a separate action.

1. Say that you want your WireMunch account and its associated server data deleted.
2. If possible, write from the email address you use to sign in. If you cannot access it, tell us so we can agree another way to verify account control.
3. You do not need to send recordings or other private content.

Never send your password, access token or recovery key. We confirm that you control the account before deleting it.

Delete one recording instead

To delete a single recording without closing your account, open it in WireMunch, choose Delete recording and confirm. This removes its audio, notes, guides, corrections and drafts from the app and queues deletion of its uploaded audio, transcript and guides from your account. If a removal is still pending, you can retry it in Settings. The backup, log and provider retention periods below also apply.

What is deleted

Your WireMunch account, its sign-in account, and associated server content: uploaded audio, transcripts, generated guides and artwork, and cloud-synced notes and corrections. We acknowledge requests within 2 working days and remove application-owned live content within 7 days after confirming account control. We also request deletion of content held by our processing providers.

What is kept, and for how long

• Server disk backups: deleted files can remain in rolling backups for about 7 days.
• Application logs: up to 14 days.
• AssemblyAI: transcripts expire after 30 days and uploaded audio is deleted within about a day, though deletion can lag by a few days; AssemblyAI keeps certain metadata for logging and billing.
• OpenAI: API abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days.
• Deletion record: a minimal record without recordings, transcripts or notes, kept so the deleted account and its content are not restored and spending records stay consistent.

What is separate

• Device-only recordings, personal notes and downloaded files are removed on your phone, by deleting them in the app or uninstalling it. An email request cannot erase files on your phone.
• People or services that already received a PDF, audio file or recovery archive control their copies.
